Biography

I am an applied economist that focuses on urban, rural and regional economics with appointments in the Department of Economics and the Office of Engagement and Extension. I am interested in a wide range of research topics from the local effects of fiscal austerity to place-based policies and local public finance. Furthermore, I'm interested in the intersection of the environment and economic development. My work has been cited in Bloomberg, Chicago Policy Review and the 2019 Council of Economic Advisor's Economic Report of the President.

Before joining the CSU faculty, I was an Associate Professor in the Economics Department at Old Dominion University and a fellow in the Dragas Center for Economic Analysis and Policy.

On a personal front, I love spending time outside with my family and running in the mountains.
