Biography
Hi everyone! My name is Riana (she/her/hers) and I am from Seattle, Washington. I have also lived in Spokane, WA, Milwaukee, WI, and Casper, WY (I have lived in pretty much all the states that start with a "W"). I was attracted to CSU because of the faculty, the program's focus on pedagogy, and all the other impressive graduate students. I study gender and sexuality in horror television and I am particularly interested in queer and feminist theoretical lenses. Outside of my academic life I have researched and worked on curating the “Scared to Death: Thrill of Horror Film” exhibit at the Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) in Seattle. Besides watching horror movies and television shows, I enjoy rock climbing, hiking, lifting, biking, painting, crafting, traveling, and trivia! I am looking forward to developing my academic interests and life passions in the beautiful city of Fort Collins.
