Biography

Mikaela Rodenbaugh is a first year Master’s student in Public Communication & Technology with research interest in how virtual reality story packaging effects empathy in news audiences. Additionally, she serves as the Digital Production Manager for the Rocky Mountain Collegian, one of the last remaining daily collegiate newspapers in the Western United States. With her background in publication, web development and digital media, she hopes to pursue a career as a digital journalist and multi-modal storyteller.

    Syllabus

    Course objective: Enhance students’ abilities to present and write clear, precise and accurate professional and technical information. The focus of the course primarily centers on writing, but elements of making effective oral presentations also are included. Students also receive instruction regarding recognition and use of ethical communication, development of information based on the sensitivity and awareness of satisfying the needs of diverse audiences and working collaboratively.
