Biography
Having taught at both the secondary and post-secondary levels since 1992, Kurt R. Knierim earned his undergraduate degree in History from Colorado State University. He earned a Master's degree in Education from Lesley University and a Master's degree in American History from Colorado State University. Knierim currently teaches Advanced Placement United States History and Government at Rocky Mountain High School in Fort Collins, Colorado and serves as the Secondary Social Studies Teaching Methods instructor for the Department of History at Colorado State. He is Senior Fellow with the James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation, was named History Teacher of the Year for Colorado by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History in 2010, and was awarded the Excellence in Education Teacher of the Year by the Poudre School District in 2006.
