The Colorado State University and Northern Colorado Jewish community will celebrate the Jewish Festival of Rosh Hashanah with a five-course, kosher community dinner at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at the Fort Collins Senior Center.
Whether it was attending baseball games as a kid or winning flag football championships during her time at Colorado State University, sports have always been an important part of Katie George’s (B.S., ’20) life. Despite her love of all things athletics, the marketing major never expected to pursue a career in that industry until she discovered CSU’s Sports Management Institute. That experience not only helped her see how many job opportunities there were in the sports world, it led her to her dream job with the Colorado Rockies.

Presented by Colorado Humanities and Center for the Book, the awards ceremony was held at the Penrose House Garden Pavilion in Colorado Springs this past Saturday, June 10.
The Colorado School of Public Health, which includes experts from Colorado State University, announced the appointment of Cathy J. Bradley as its next dean. Bradley is the fourth ColoradoSPH dean.
On Sunday, July 30, all CSU fans are invited to see the Colorado Rockies hopefully light up the Oakland A’s at Coors Field during the 2023 Rams at the Rockies game.
More than 250 high school students from Northern Colorado heard Colorado State University and Fort Collins experts talk during the 2023 Climate Leadership Summit organized by Poudre School District students, some of whom are enrolled at Futures Lab. The event drew participants from at least 10 districts.
“My Communication Studies degree has really given me an edge when it comes to trial work,” Schenk says. “Some of my favorite classes were Studies in Persuasion and Advanced Public Speaking, which taught me both the psychology and practical skills behind being a great presenter. Understanding what persuasive techniques work and why, and appreciating the ethical implications behind our speech has given me a level of comfort in court and in front of juries that I know I wouldn’t have without my degree.”
During the 2022-23 academic year, we are highlighting one Colorado State University student or alum from each of Colorado’s 64 counties. The Centennial State’s land grant university has a connection to the diverse lands and people from the counties of Moffat to Baca, Montezuma to Sedgwick and everywhere in between.
