I grew up in northern Colorado, and after college I lived in Littleton until 2019 when we moved to Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. We are back in Colorado now. Before I began working with college students, I worked for 30 years at the high school level where I taught and advised yearbook, newspaper, journalistic writing, web page design, digital and darkroom photography, video production, and literature and composition. Since 2008 I have taught in the Journalism and Media Communication department at CSU.

I am passionate about good writing and helping others find their writing voice. As a writer and writing teacher, I have edited the writing of others for many years. I have found that mastering punctuation rules are essential for professional writing; familiarity with the AP Stylebook helps develop confidence.
