Nelson Rodriguez Garza is a music instructor at Colorado State University. As a Mexican musician, guitarist, and educator, his work spans classical, Latin American music, and multimedia performance. He has appeared in international festivals across Mexico and the U.S. His collaborations include Il Continuo, Guitar Duo Paax, Mariachi Universitario, and Mariachi Perla del Medio Oeste. Nelson also contributed to the award-winning multimedia production A Falling Loop, commissioned by the Twisted Spruce Music Foundation.

Nelson is currently pursuing a Doctor of Music degree in Guitar Performance at Indiana University, Jacobs School of Music. He previously served as Senior Online Artist Instructor and Guitar Area Coordinator for the Jacobs Virtual Academy, where he taught underserved students in the Dominican Republic through innovative distance learning programs.

Outside the classroom, Nelson enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, often drawing musical inspiration from Colorado’s natural beauty.
