About

Biography

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Colorado State University Ph.D. I received my PhD from the Department of Government at Georgetown University. I also hold an M.P.P. from the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University and an M.S. in Media and Communication from Middle Tennessee State University.

My research considers how political communication on the internet and digital platforms affects public opinion and political behavior. I’ve explored these questions by examining how political elites use social media, how political institutions – like the U.S. Congress – navigate digital content creation, the political beliefs of correctors of online misinformation, and when they communicate about public policy. More broadly, I am interested in substantive questions involving political information, artificial intelligence, technology policy, and Congress. I primarily approach these questions using computational methods such as machine learning and natural language processing.
