Tia is a Masters student in the Department of Communication Studies. She is currently an instructor of record for SPCM 200: Public Speaking. She studies how people communicate about microaggressions, how people define and use the term microaggression, and what alternative words they prefer to microaggression, if any. She has an interest in strategic health messaging and health disparities. Her work uses a critical lens and leans qualitative with a dash of rhetoric.
