Biography
Evan Stackpole is a master's student at Colorado State University focusing on colonial and early Republican America, with an emphasis on material culture. Evan is interested in the development of collective identities amongst working-class Americans as expressed through their clothing. He is currently working on a thesis examining plebeian menswear, tentatively titled “Revolution in Fashion.”
Evan graduated with a BA in History, with honors, from the University of California Davis. Evan has presented his research at conferences held by the Western Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies, CSU’s College of Liberal Arts, and the Western Chapter of the Costume Society of America. In summer of 2025, Evan served as the tutor for Historic Deerfield’s Summer Fellowship Program. Following the Fellowship Program’s conclusion, Evan conducted his own research using the collections of Historic Deerfield and the Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association Library under a library fellowship.
