Biography

Samantha Brewer is an Instructor of Music Theory in the School of Music, Theater, and Dance at Colorado State University. She teaches first- and second-year Music Theory and Aural Skills.

Professor Brewer's primary area of research during her graduate studies was rhythm and meter in contemporary choral music. She also explored the area of female post-tonal composers, particularly the works of Ruth Crawford Seeger. She holds a Bachelor of the Arts in Music from Colorado State University, and a Master of Music in Music Theory from the University of Northern Colorado. Professor Brewer is a member of the Society for Music Theory (SMT).
