Biography

Cheyne is an Academic Success Coordinator supporting students who major in Art, Art History, and Journalism and Media Communication. He has worked in higher education for more than 15 years including roles in teaching, administration, and advising at both Colorado State University and University of Denver.

He is a first-generation student who earned his Bachelor of Arts at Western Michigan University in English and History, Master of Arts at Colorado State University in English: Teaching English as a Second Language, and a graduate certificate in Leadership and Innovation: Change Management at University of Denver.  He has taught at both CSU and DU, and presented at academic conferences locally, nationally, and internationally.

As an Academic Success Coordinator, he enjoys building relationships with CSU students to support, educate, and empower them in reaching their academic and career goals.

In his free time, Cheyne enjoys being outdoors hiking and camping, live music and vinyl records, international travel, learning about new languages and cultures, writing, and most of all spending time with his daughter.
