Biography
I have been at Colorado State University since August 1999. I am currently a Teaching Professor of Spanish. A native of Parral, Chihuahua , Mexico, I received my Ph.D. in 20th Century Spanish American Literature from Texas Tech University in 1987. My many areas of interest include: contemporary Spanish American prose, issues in culture, translation and interpreting, as well as the teaching of reading and writing skills. Learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. I am very involved in community outreach work that involves my students. I am committed to creating a welcoming environment for our students and their families
I am also the Undergraduate Coordinator for LLC.

SyllabusThis course develops advanced Spanish writing through four portfolio projects that progress from personal narrative to professional communication. LSPA 400 – Advanced Communication Skills in Spanish
SyllabusLSPA 400 is an advanced-level Spanish course designed to develop students’ linguistic, analytical, and creative competencies at a sophisticated level. The course integrates critical reading, academic writing, oral communication, and cultural inquiry to prepare students for high-level engagement with the Spanish language across diverse contexts.
