College Strategic Priorities

We, in the College of Liberal Arts, are the heart and the hub of CSU. Without us, it cannot be done.

We aim for meaningful impact, recognition, and inclusive excellence.

Our strategic priorities are:

  1. Elevate research and creative works.
  2. Lead the way for student success, recruitment, retention, and healthy growth.
  3. Build collaborative, transparent and communicative cultures infused with respect.
A circle with the text "Heart and Hub of CSU" has three spokes leading to a list of three priorities: 1. Elevate research/creative works, 2. Lead student success, 3. Great Culture

CLA is a hub for world-changing research and creative works.

We aspire to bold contributions in everything we do: not just great research or brilliant creative work, but collaboration, engagement, and showing how our work will change the world.

We bring a perspective to the scholarly enterprise that no other set of disciplines can bring.

We reach out to other disciplines with the recognition of our value – boldly pressing the case for our necessity.

Sample priority projects:

  • Research excellence task force
  • Democracy Initiative
  • Elevating scholarship recognition
  • “CLA Everywhere” – a collaboration with Engagement and Extension
