Social Justice Thru the Arts hosted their 3rd season of summer sessions to help Colorado high school students grapple with concepts like oppression, privilege, and art as a means of resistance through discussion, video, artmaking and collaborative forum.
The first passion of Blake Welch (B.F.A., ’85) was drawing and painting, but it took a moment of clarity and the courage to walk away from a thriving business to return to his creative roots and begin teaching what he had learned along the way.
Beginning July 26, volunteers are needed to help paint the nearly 4,000-square-foot street mural that welcomes fans to Canvas Stadium and celebrates Ram pride.
As part of the piece, the artist invited a CSU composer to create a unique, living map that weaves a sonic story about the region’s land, water and community.
