Wildfire risk is fueling a steep increase in the cost of insurance for Colorado homeowners, making it some of the most expensive in the country, according to a new report by Colorado State University’s Regional Economic Development Institute.
CSU’s Regional Economic Development Institute estimates that the benefits to those who voted “yes” on wolf reintroduction will be about $115 million per year, more than 50 times the estimated government spending for ranchers experiencing losses due to predation.
The new CIOSU will work to advance University efforts toward strengthening the economic, environmental, cultural and social foundations of the state’s local and regional food systems.
CSU experts in economics, supply chains, agriculture, food systems, food safety, and health and nutrition are contributing fact-based insights at a fast pace to address issues that affect millions of people.
