Sundance Film Festival is bringing a film from its 2026 festival lineup to Fort Collins for a special advance screening of The Weight, with director Padraic McKinley and actor Julia Jones appearing in person for the Aug. 31 event at The Lyric’s outdoor screen.

April 9 through 12 the ACT Human Rights Film Festival will showcase new films from around the world that educate and inspire, along with opportunities to connect with award-winning filmmakers and film participants.
ACT will present 23 human rights documentaries and connect award-winning filmmakers and film participants with local audiences.
This spring Colorado State University’s ACT Human Rights Film Festival will celebrate its tenth festival edition April 2-6, 2025.
Conversations with filmmakers and activists, catered receptions and screenings of 22 films will all take place over five days. Festivalgoers will have unique opportunities to make a difference and engage with the human rights issues explored in this year’s films.
From April 3 through 7, ACT will present 22 esteemed documentaries on campus and at The Lyric. Award-winning filmmakers and film participants will join to share their insights and connect with audiences.
The center, part of the revitalization of the Clark Building, will focus on the excellence within CSU’s educational mission.
