History
Gary Moody grew up in Longmont, and began teaching oboe and bassoon at Colorado State University as an adjunct instructor in 1988, continuing his career at CSU as Professor of Double Reeds and Theory until his retirement. After retiring from a career in elementary education, teaching in the St. Vrain Valley School District, Rise, Who was raised in Denver, worked at CSU for the Center for Advising and Student Achievement. Together, they enjoyed attending CSU musical performances as well as getting to know many oboe and bassoon students through the years. They established this fund in order to help maintain and improve the quality of oboe and bassoon playing at CSU. The purpose of the fund is to provide scholarships to benefit students with a primary instrument of oboe or bassoon during their studies at Colorado State University.
