History

A first generation graduate of CSU’s Journalism Department in 1975, Kelly Long joined the Poudre School District in 1980, where in the course of a wonderful career, she taught English, Humanities, IB English and History, directed theater, and chaired the English Department. Having completed her Ph.D. in History, her passion for students and education carried her to CSU in 1998 where she joined the History Department. She offered courses in social studies teacher preparation as well as U.S. and Asian history. She served as Associate Dean in the College of Liberal Arts, and is now Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs. Her dedication to social studies and English, and passion for music are reflected in this gift, which supports students as they complete student teaching before entering the teaching profession in one of these fields.
