Biography

Jessica Warner began her study of the oboe with Andrea Mather-Stow at the age of 10 in South Bend, Indiana. She made her solo debut at the age of 17 with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra.

Ms. Warner holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan where she studied with Dr. Nancy Ambrose-King and received her master's from the University of Texas at Austin where she studied with Rebecca Henderson. In addition, she has also studied at the Aspen Summer Music Festival for three summers with John Mack, Joe Robinson, Jeannette Bittar, and Pedro Diaz.

Jessica Warner has won jobs in Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, Western Piedmont Symphony, Peoria Symphony Orchestra, Pontiac Symphony Orchestra, and Auckland Philharmonia. She has performed oboe and English horn with many orchestras throughout the United States and abroad, including Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra, North Carolina Symphony Orchestra, Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, Winston-Salem Symphony, South Carolina Symphony Orchestra, Knoxville Symphony Orchestra, South Bend Symphony, Illinois Symphony and Monterrey Symphony Orchestra.

In 2011, Ms. Warner released the debut recording of Dirk-Michael Kirsch's Ganymed for Solo Oboe. She has also played solo performances with Music for Harmony, Odyssey Chamber Ensemble and the 9th Street Philharmonic.

Ms. Warner has experience being an educator and oboe instructor in Michigan, Texas, New York, North Carolina, Tennessee and Colorado. In Austin, Texas Jessica was theory faculty at the Clavier Werke School of Music. Ms. Warner has worked as oboe faculty at East Tennessee State University, New York Summer Music Festival, and Cannon Music Camp. She has also taught and performed as a guest artist at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina.

In 2017 Jessica started the non-for-profit, Music for Harmony, where she raised funds for different causes through multiple concerts in North Carolina. She has also performed multiple outreach children's concerts with Western Piedmont Symphony Orchestra from 2013 to 2019.

Jessica is a mother of two wonderful and precocious children and loves gardening, art and exploring new areas of Colorado.
