Susie Garifi carries a strong interest in the fundamental values of dance and community and strives to create productive and supportive experiences that use dance as a vehicle to form connections. She holds a M.A. in Dance Education from New York University, a B.A. with a major in Dance from Colorado State University, studied with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in their Independent Study Program, and danced professionally with IMPACT Dance Company for 17 years. Susie is also a certified Vinyasa Yoga instructor and enjoys sharing the benefits of somatic practices in all her teaching and learning experiences. Currently, Susie is a senior instructor in the dance program at Colorado State University, a dance and yoga instructor at Impulse Dance & Fitness, a yoga instructor at Old Town Yoga, and acts as a Community Engagement Coordinator of IMPACT Dance Company’s program Every Voice Matters.
