Biography

Hi there! My name is Kylie Johnson (she/her/hers), and I am a first-year Ph.D. student with interpersonal and health communication foci. My research investigates the dark sides of social support, often concentrating on support provider experiences. Practically, I hope to offer insight into how people can navigate challenges to create more ethical, sustainable, and satisfying supportive relationships.

I volunteer for CSU's Victim Assistance Team to provide confidential support and advocacy to primary and secondary survivors of sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking. I also volunteer as a Sexual Assault Response Team Mentor to help train high school juniors and seniors for student-led presentations on how to prevent sexual violence in our Fort Collins community.

During my free time, I enjoy going on walks and hikes, exploring different parts of Colorado, watching ridiculous reality TV shows, and spending time with my cat, Edgar.
