I am an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science at Colorado State University. I received my Ph.D. from UCLA and previously held positions at the Scowcroft Institute for International Affairs (Texas A&M University), Colgate University, and the KDI School of Public Policy and Management. My research examines how the international environment shapes political behavior—from public opinion to authoritarian regime behavior and patterns of international cooperation. I have published in Public Opinion Quarterly, Review of International Studies, Journal of Global Security Studies, International Relations of the Asia-Pacific, Armed Forces and Society, and Foreign Affairs online. My work has been supported by the George Marshall Foundation, the Institute for Global Conflict and Cooperation, and the Academy of Korean Studies.
