Hi! I'm Evan, a first-year philosophy MA student.

As an undergrad I studied chemical engineering and environmental biology at WashU in St. Louis, before catching a bad case of the philosophy bug (for which I have yet to find a cure). This has manifested symptomatically as a broad and persistent interest in the philosophy of mind, cognitive science, and metaphysics—especially the intersection of these fields with certain forms of Buddhist philosophy. I'm particularly interested in questions relating to the nature and function of consciousness, the problem of perception (leave it to philosophers to turn everything we hold dear into a problem), embodied cognition, and wisdom.

In my free time you can find me playing chess and soccer, as well as doing more stereotypically Colorado things like trail running, hiking, camping, etc.
