Nicholas is a first-year graduate student researching environmental history and ski tourism working under Dr Childers and Dr Orsi. He also is a Dan Tyler Editorial Graduate Fellow with the Western Historical Quarterly.

Nicholas earned a B.A. in History with a Museum Management certificate from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado in 2026. His senior thesis Soldiers for the Earth: The Environmental Legacy of the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colorado 1945-2022 focused on the impact of 10th Mountain Division veterans had on the environmental movement post-world war II.

Currently Nicholas is researching the history of Hidden Valley Ski Area in Rocky Mountain National Park and the land use ethics within our national parks. In his free time he is enjoying our precious public lands by hiking, climbing, and skiing in the same places that the 10th Mountain did.
