Curriculum Vitae:
Biography
Before joining Colorado State University (CSU), Sujan Sen Gupta (he/him) worked for over three years as a sub-editor in the online Bengali section of The Business Standard, a leading daily in Bangladesh. Additionally, he was a freelance writer, with work featured in publications such as Roar Bangla and other websites. In his role at The Business Standard, he not only edited and translated news content but also introduced the use of Generative AI prompts to streamline editing and translation workflows — tools later adopted widely across his team. He eventually served as team lead, supervising sub-editors and managing the section’s content and publication.
Sujan earned his bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Dhaka, where he began his professional career during his junior year.
At CSU, he is pursuing the thesis track in Journalism and Media Communication. His research interests focus on media ethics, particularly how newsroom practices are shaped by internal influences and broader societal and public attitudes. He is also exploring potential research directions in Generative Artificial Intelligence. As part of his graduate teaching assistantship, he helps teach JTC 100: Media in Society.
