Biography

Peng Deng (they/them) is an MS student whose research interests lie in health communication, strategic communication, and their intersection. Specifically, they want to understand what shapes people’s health beliefs, as well as how to utilize mediated communication to achieve the optimal public health outcomes. Before studying at CSU, Peng received a master’s degree in language sciences (subfield: psycholinguistics), where they developed a strong interest in quantitative and experimental studies. Peng also worked in multiple sectors in journalism and communication, part of their previous work involved writing popular science articles, where they gained practical experiences in health communication. Some of their works can be seen on reputable Chinese media outlets like Sanlian Lifeweek, Netease, and Dingxiang Doctor.
