Hi. I'm a second year in the program here. I hail from Kansas. I did my undergrad at Lake Forest College in Illinois where I majored in Philosophy and Religion.

Some stuff. I study virtue ethics and Socrates was probably right about everything...OK maybe Aristotle was. No, probably Socrates. Wrote my undergraduate thesis on Martin Luther's influence on Kierkegaard's philosophy. Luther is a doofus; Kierkegaard is a cleverer doofus. I like Nietzsche. "How terrible," you think, "he must hate God and Country and maim innocent forest creatures like bunnies and squirrels every day." It's not true! It's just not.... I only do that when I have spare time.

Two other wacky things I have cooking: (1) Bringing political theory to bear (eh? eh?!) on the debate of the legal capabilities of animals, like whether they can contract do so justly; (2) the role of rituals, spaces, design, and so forth, on our moral character.
