Calling faculty interested in rural places, local problem-solving, and community-rooted innovation

Join us for a facilitated, cross-college conversation about the ways our work intersects with the needs, challenges, and opportunities in rural and agricultural communities. Whether your research touches rural sociology, agricultural education, economic development, agricultural support, veterinary access, or just the general messiness of real-world problem solving — we want you in the room.

This first convening will include:

  • ⚡ Lightning talks from 9 faculty members across our 3 colleges
  • 🧠 Small group discussion to connect across disciplines and surface shared interests
  • 🌱 Seed-planting for a Fall series, where weekly sessions will spotlight faculty work and encourage new collaborations

This is an open invitation.

If you’ve already been tapped, awesome — but if this catches your interest, you belong here too. We’re building new partnerships and want everyone who cares about the future of ag and rural communities to have a voice.
