He served in the Coast Guard during World War II in the South Pacific, which introduced him to a life-long interest in other places and cultures, passed down to his children.
Dr. Sue Davis Pendell came to Colorado State University in 1979 as a faculty member in the Department of Communication Studies where she taught in the area of interpersonal and intercultural communication and served in many capacities, including Study Abroad advisor, until her retirement in 2014.
