Biography

I am a first-generation college student from Olympia, Washington. I received my BA in Communication Studies from Pacific Lutheran University with an emphasis in Civic Engagement. My research blends critical cultural and rhetorical approaches to configure how sound is utilized to persuade audiences and construct meaning (especially around gender and race). In other words, I listen for the relations of power and identity at the intersections of media, social movements, and emergent technologies.

I am the proud caretaker of a pâté and nap connoisseur domestic shorthair named Rita. In my free time, you can find me practicing amateur mycology, catching up on Korean horror films, or playing the electric bass.
