My name is Michael Foist, and I was born in Seymour, Indiana. Upon receiving my Bachelor's degree from Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus, I relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah to pursue my Master's degree. When I completed that program, I was immediately drawn to CSU because of the caliber of the faculty, in addition to the excellent support and professional training this institution provides. The intellectual freedom that CSU provides me has been invaluable as I grow as a scholar and embrace areas of study that truly speak to my embodied experience as a disabled man.

When I am not interrogating the rhetorical construction of disability in media texts, I choose to spend time with my senior dog, Oliver, and I have recently taken to cooking, which has had its share of triumphs and setbacks. In addition, I am keen to discover all that Fort Collins has to offer.
