Biography

Madison Barnes-Nelson (she/her/hers) is an M.A. student at Colorado State University. She received her B.A. in Communication Studies at Gonzaga University with minors in Spanish and Business. Her research interests include television studies, feminist media studies, comedy and performance, and media industries. She recently defended her thesis titled "Representation and Legitimation in Streaming Televison's Teenage Girl Traumedies" where she researched the representational practices and industrial conditions of an emerging TV genre centered on teenage girlhood. She teaches SPCM 200: Public Speaking.
