Hi!  My name is Kirsten Rockenfeller, and I'm starting the Economics PhD program this fall 2017.  I recently graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in Mathematics and Economics and a minor in Education Studies, but before moving to San Diego I was born and raised in a small town right outside Las Vegas.  After graduation this June 2017, I spent my summer teaching 3rd graders in Muizenberg, South Africa, and I'm already hoping to teach abroad again.

Teaching is absolutely a passion of mine.  During my time in undergrad I taught high school and middle school math, and I held workshops twice a week for students struggling in math at UC San Diego.  I also love sports, hiking, working out and hanging out with my newly adopted dog Kona!
