Biography

Introduction: My background includes more than 15 years of professional experience in management, website design, project management, and online marketing communications for corporations and non-profit organizations. My teaching experience includes more than five years as an adjunct instructor, teaching both online and on-ground classes. I have also taught website design and professional communication classes as a graduate teaching instructor at Colorado State University for three years.

My passion is teaching college students so that they can learn and succeed in achieving their dreams and goals. I have always enjoyed the sense of enthusiasm and desire to learn that is fostered in higher education classrooms, both virtual and in-person. I am also committed to researching online health communication, specifically communication on an online forum for individuals with BDD (body dsymorphic disorder).

Education: I received my M.S in Communication Management from Colorado State University, an A.S. in Web Site Architecture from The Art Institute of Colorado and my B.A. in Art History from Mount Holyoke College.I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Communication and Technology from Colorado State University, specializing in online health communication.

Personal: I currently live in Lafayette, Colorado, between Denver and Boulder, close to the Rocky Mountains. I am originally from New England and have lived in Colorado for 15 years. In my free time I enjoy trail running, biking (road and mountain), hiking, swimming, reading, and spending time with family, friends, and my cat, Cindi.
