Dr. Dinwiddie retired from New Mexico State University-Carlsbad with the rank of Full Professor in 2008. He has been an adjunct instructor at CSU since 2010. Dr. D as he is known to his students enjoys working with students and sees history as a wonderful story about people and their experiences. He has taught a wide variety of courses at the university level and particularly enjoys American Military History.His educational background includes emphasis in the American Southwest and both modern American and modern European history and politics. Prior to becoming a professor Dr. Dinwiddie was a museum professional for thirteen years. He and his wife Becky have two adult children and eight grand children.
