Carolyn studied Social and Cultural Analysis at NYU for her undergraduate degree, then spent the next five years working for an educational travel company in Guatemala and Ecuador, working as an adventure tourism guide in Vietnam, living in a van and rock climbing around Australia and Tasmania, and doing logistics for the Colorado Outward Bound School in Moab, Utah.

A desire to transition to a more environmentally-focused career led Carolyn to the decision to pursue a Master's degree in Environmental Sociology, and the specialization of CSU's faculty in that realm, as well as Ft. Collins' easy access to beautiful outdoor spaces, brought Carolyn to CSU.
