Seth Pendergast Promotional PhotoSession description: This year, many music teachers are exploring distance music learning, creative musical projects, and cloud-based solutions for facilitating student collaboration. However, some music teachers remain unfamiliar with creative pedagogy and cost-effective technology for creative musical projects. In this session, we will explore (a) web-based tools for music composition, (b) pedagogy for teaching music composition with online tools, and (c) student collaboration via web-based platforms. The pedagogy discussion will address practical project ideas and basic frameworks for designing your own creative projects. We will discuss how to structure creative projects for a variety of musical styles and formats. The technology portion will address free/affordable web-based platforms for home, school and multiple devices. Finally, we will review practical resources for extra projects and information.
