DESCRIPTION:The Father Don Willette Endowment presents Theology in a State 
 University​ with David Deane\, Ph.D.\nThe modern world brings with it a 
 series of binaries: public and private\, faith and reason\, Church and sta
 te. This presentation will look at the past and future of Catholic theolog
 y at CSU and explore how its presence can call into question binaries that

 David Deane is an Associate Professor of Theology at Atlantic School of Th
 eology. A former fellow of the Irish Research Council for the Humanities a
 nd Social Sciences\, his books include Nietzsche and Theology\, Still Unhe
 aled: Treating the Pathology in the Clergy Sexual Abuse Crisis\, and the f
 orthcoming Resisting the Tyranny of the Banal. He previously served as The
 ologian in Residence at Colorado State University in 2006 and 2007.
