DESCRIPTION:In the wake of recent national and local demonstrations of raci
 al intimidation and terrorism\, the ACT Human Rights Film Festival along w
 ith the departments of Communication Studies\, Ethnic Studies and History\
 , and the Black/African American Cultural Center are hosting a free campus
 -wide event\, "Symbols and History of Lynching in America." Sponsored by t
 he College of Liberal Arts\, the evening program combines presentations on
  the symbols and history of lynching\, student discussion on bias-motivate
 d incidents on campus\, and a screening of and Q&amp\;A session on AN OUTR
 AGE\, a 33-minute documentary film that incorporates the memories and pers
 pectives of descendants\, activists\, and scholars of lynching and was fil
 med on location at lynching sites in six different states. Please join us 
 after the event for a gathering in LSC theatre lobby with refreshments.
