Sundance Film Festival and The Lyric are presenting an exclusive advance screening of THE WEIGHT on August 31, 2026 in Fort Collins at 7:30 p.m. Before the film hits The Lyric’s outdoor screen that evening, join director Padraic McKinley and actor Julia Jones alongside Sundance Institute’s Jeff Levine for an hourlong conversation on Colorado State University’s campus.
The conversation will look behind the scenes at how THE WEIGHT was made and launched, what a Sundance Film Festival premiere can mean for a film, and what Sundance Film Festival’s move to Boulder offers Colorado’s existing filmmakers, audiences, and festivals. Moderated by Shane Slattery-Quintanilla, assistant professor in the Department of Journalism and Media Communication and Beth Seymour, managing director of CSU’s ACT Human Rights Film Festival.
