Body/Speak

An evening of dance from around the region. CSU dance faculty and students share the stage with faculty and students from colleges, universities, and community college programs in Colorado and Wyoming.

Fall & Recover
Colorado State University
Choreographer: Lisa Morgan
with Sharon K. Wilson and Billie Pawlikowski
Performers: Sharon K. Wilson and Billie Pawlikowski
Music: Yann Tierson and Rene Aubry

Fall & Recover are fundamental movement concepts that we study as dance artists, discovering the limits and ability of the body in space. They are also foundational to the aging body as gravity influences our stability and challenge to walk upright. People living with Parkinson’s are immediately aware of falling and recovering from all sorts of things and are confronted with them on a daily and moment-to-moment basis, both physically and psychologically. This dance piece looks at these concepts as well as a path of the “condition”, reflecting on the difficulties, the bizarre presentations and the humor and play we ultimately need to remind ourselves to take part in. www.movingthroughparkinsons.com
