Eligibility for Scholarships

To be considered for the scholarships awarded in the College of Liberal Arts you must be:

  1. Accepted for admission or currently enrolled at Colorado State University.
  2. Most scholarships require the student to be enrolled as a first major in the College of Liberal Arts and continue in that major (unless otherwise noted).
  3. Registered as a full time student during the term of the award (12 credits for undergraduate students/9 credits for graduate students).

Additionally, each scholarship has criteria and guidelines established by the donor which are used by the Scholarship Committee to select a recipient. The criteria may specify major, class, need, academic achievement, residency, or a combination of these and other factors. Information published online regarding an individual scholarship may change prior to selection of a recipient. The number and specific
amount of each scholarship may vary due to contributions made to annual scholarships or to the income earned from scholarship endowments.

The Scholarship Committee determines "class" as a student's status as a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior at the time the scholarship funds would be transferred into the recipient's student account. The committee determines "need" by verification of documentation filed with the Office of Financial Aid (FAFSA). For more information go to: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov

  1. If you are selected as a scholarship recipient, you must maintain good scholastic standing throughout the duration of your scholarship in order to retain your award.
  2. A recipient also is required to report any change in financial status, marital status, address, or major field of study promptly to the Scholarship Committee.
  3. Recipients are required to cooperate with the Scholarship Committee to promote the College's Scholarship Program, specifically by writing a thank-you note to a donor. Recipients also may be asked to participate in other public relations activities for the College.
