Professor Gollapudi teaches courses in Restoration and 18th-century British literature. She is particularly interested in the theater culture of the period and emergent discourses of gender and modernity. In addition to literature from the long 18th century, her research interests include children's literature and interactions of text and image in various genres such as emblem books, picturebooks, comics, graphic novels, etc.

Professor Gollapudi's primary area of research and publication is eighteenth-century literature and culture, especially drama. Her book, Moral Reform in Comedy and Culture, 1696 1742 (Ashgate, 2011) discusses the socio-political and performative implications of reform plots in early eighteenth-century comedies by playwrights such as Cibber, Steele, Centlivre, Johnson, and Hoadly.

Her current research focuses on representations of children in a variety of eighteenth-century cultural narratives, from legal and literary to political and economic. She is currently working on a book about child actors on the eighteenth-century stage.
