The College of Liberal Arts (CLA) is the largest college at Colorado State University with approximately 4,500 undergraduate and 600 graduate students in 13 departments. The Communications Intern will work with the Assistant to the Dean for External Relations in the College of Liberal Arts Dean’s Office to coordinate communication to external constituencies.

The Communications Intern can expect to work approximately 10 hours per week to:

  • Manage CLA  social media accounts
  • Write and edit press releases, blog posts, and social media features
  • Interview CLA faculty, staff, and students to develop content for press releases, blog posts, and social media features
  • Learn to share stories in new and different ways through video, photo, and infographics
  • Develop creative design skills
  • Complete individualized projects directly related to your area of study and professional interests
  • Attend Division of External Relations meetings and roundtables
  • Provide support for major CLA events
  • Support staff in the Dean’s Office by covering the front desk and answering phones as needed

Application Process

Applicants must be enrolled at least half-time as an undergraduate or graduate student for the duration of the internship. As this is an unpaid position, the Communications Intern is expected to work with her/his home department to register for internship class credit.
