Liberal Arts Remodel Information
A $12 million remodel/revitalization of Eddy Hall began in May 2014, with classes resuming during the summer of 2015. Improvements to Eddy Hall were centered in environmental sustainability and include:
- A newly redesigned entrance
- Widened hallways, doors, and stairwells
- Updated heating and cooling systems
- Improved faculty offices and classrooms
- Added lounge areas
- Gender-neutral restrooms on every floor
- Fresh carpet, paint, and exterior finishes.
Eddy Hall now houses the Philosophy department, Ethnic Studies department, and English department. In addition, there are several centers including the University Writing Center, Center for Women’s Studies and Gender Research, Jann Benson Ethics Center, the Community Literacy Center, and the Willard O. Eddy Memorial Library.
Additional resources are now available within Eddy Hall. A computer lab with free printing for liberal arts students is located on the third floor. Eddy’s Eddies, which serve as comfortable study & lounge areas, are located on each floor, as are gender-neutral restrooms.
Eddy Hall is currently open to the public and visitors are encouraged to stop by. A Grand Re-Opening Celebration is slated for August; details coming soon!
